March Equinox – Equal Day and Night, Nearly

It is almost springtime! In the Northern Hemisphere, that is! In the Southern Hemisphere, it is nearly the start of fall/autumn. On Saturday, 20 March 2021, at around 09:37 UTC, neither the North Pole nor the South Pole is tilted towards the Sun. This moment marks 2021’s March equinox and the first day of astronomical spring in the North, and astronomical fall in the South.
